The Inaugural Ceremony of the Global Innopolis Network Initiative (GINI) and the Global Innopolis Forum was held on September 3-4, 2024, at the Daejeon Convention Center, hosted by Daejeon Metropolitan City, Republic of Korea. The ceremony marked the official launch of GINI, a global network established to promote sustainable urban prosperity through science- and technology-based innovation.
Representatives of the five founding members—Daejeon (Republic of Korea), Montgomery County (Maryland, USA), Málaga (Spain), Dortmund (Germany), and Seattle (USA)—signed the GINI Charter, formally expressing their commitment to this collaborative initiative.
The Charter provides a foundational framework for GINI’s operations, governance, and membership, and acts as a guide for its overall direction.
It also describes the roles and responsibilities of members, outlines key activities such as meetings and forums, and presents principles for decision-making and cooperation.
By signing the Charter, representatives of each region expressed their shared commitment to sustainable urban development through scientific, technological, and economic cooperation.
